Only On Sunday

I can’t say I’m exactly enamored with the AbsoluteWrite Writers Forum. I find it, well, let’s just leave it at not exactly enamored. However, to have it shutdown by an angry agent because that agent found herself on the Twenty Worst Agents list is worse than appalling.

Barbara Bauer is known to Writer Beware. Writer Beware is an organization designed to protect writers from the likes of the Barbara Bauer’s of the world. To have the honor of being on the Writer Beware list, an agent must work hard at garnering complaints and helping the struggling writer out by charging fees for reading, admin, editing, breathing. They must also excel at having a near zero track record in sales to commercial publishers. Apparently Ms Bauer is something of an overachiever as she has managed to make, and stay on, Writer Beware’s list for sometime now. Kudos to you Ms Bauer.

Truth hurts, I guess. Ms Bauer seems to be a bit peeved over this honor. So much so that she made some major complaints, threaded herself through a loophole, and managed to get JC-Hosting to shut AbsoluteWrite down. Quite a feat. Perhaps the CIA should hire Ms Bauer to hunt down Osama. They certainly can’t seem to find him and if she is tenacious enough to have a website shut down, who knows what she might accomplish if the administration air-drops her into Afghanistan?
